Minnesota Shoreland Management Resource Guide
(Minnesota Sea Grant)

The Minnesota Shoreland Management Resource Guide is designed for people who make the everyday decisions that impact lakes and rivers. Many of the background materials about lakes and rivers on the site are applicable across the region. The Shoreland Guide site includes printer-ready fact sheets, scientific and technical literature, publications that are out of print, as well as new materials. It also profiles citizen lake restoration projects.

This site contains model ordinances for stream and lake buffer zones, erosion and sediment control, open space development, stormwater control, illicit discharges, golf course management guidelines, and other concerns.

A Guide to Sensitive Shoreline Development
(Michigan Land Use Institute)
