Planning Resources For Houghton County

“Shaping Our Future” Survey Scenic Roads

One of the survey questions asked Houghton County residents to list roads they felt should be designated as “scenic,” retaining their natural character. The Environmental Decision Making class tallied those results and compiled them in a table (PDF File). The roads named on more than 100 surveys were U.S. 41 (especially to Copper Harbor), “covered” road (most specified the one in Stanton Township, M-26 (especially to Copper Harbor), and Hancock Canal Road/M203.
